Where the data comes from
Each venue was looked up individually and its own published material read — website, posted menu, social feed — before anything was recorded. Aggregators were used as a lead, never as a source of record. Nothing here was scraped from another deals site and reposted, which is why the list is smaller than those sites and why more of it is true.
105 of the 568 venues had a special worth recording. 504 have a location precise enough to pin on the map.
What the confidence labels mean
Every deal carries one. They are the most useful thing on the page, so they are shown rather than buried in a methodology footnote.
- Verified
- The venue publishes it themselves — on their own site, their own posted menu, or their own social account. If they changed it yesterday, this is the entry most likely to still be right.
- Reported
- A third party lists it — a review site, a local roundup, an aggregator. Plausible, frequently correct, and frequently a year stale.
- Unconfirmed
- A single weak signal, or a source that could not be re-checked. It is listed because a lead is better than a blank, and flagged because it might be wrong. Call first.
How times work
Times are stored as Eastern wall-clock hours, because that is what a venue means when it puts "4–7" on a chalkboard. A window that crosses midnight is credited to the day it starts on: a Friday 10pm–1am late-night deal is a Friday deal, not a Saturday one.
"Happening now" and "Starts in…" are computed in your browser against America/New_York, so they stay correct whether you are checking from Winter Garden, Seattle or a layover.
What this is not
It is not live. It is a snapshot, last refreshed . Venues change their specials without telling anyone, and a happy hour that ran for three years can end on a Tuesday. Nobody here is paid for placement, and no venue can buy a better position.
